DIRESA STARTED COMPREHENSIVE MEDICAL EVALUATION IN COMMUNITIES OF NEW REQUENA

Within the framework of its Covid-19 surveillance, prevention and control activities, the Regional Government of Ucayali, through its Regional Health Directorate (Diresa), began a comprehensive medical evaluation of the Nueva Requena Communities, to verify the status health of its residents.

The intervention took place yesterday, Sunday the 24th, in the Shambo Porvenir Native Community, with the presence of doctors, nurses, and had logistical support and the free delivery of medicines and masks, which were donated by Grupo Ocho Sur, a company dedicated to sustainable production. of palm oil in our region.

In this regard, the director of Diresa, Juan Carlos Salas, reported that during the intervention in Shambo two asymptomatic positive cases of Covid-19 were found, who were given the corresponding medicines for their treatment and were isolated in their own homes. “They will continue to be monitored,” he stated.

He added that in this way the Diresa, with the collaboration of the aforementioned company, has started a campaign of Sunday medical checks in 23 communities in the district of Nueva Requena, in the province of Coronel Portillo, which will have an approximate scope of care for 10 thousand settlers.

During the medical event, the head of the Shambo Porvenir Native Community, Franck Noriega, expressed his gratitude to all the health personnel for the tireless effort to reach his village and promote free access to medical care for his people.

The native chief also expressed his gratitude to the Ucayali Regional Health Directorate and the oil palm producing company, “for providing their professional help and support with medicines for the benefit of their residents.

For his part, the general manager of Grupo Ocho Sur, Michael Spoor, stated that, given the resurgence of the pandemic in our country, his company has joined the Regional Government of Ucayali to contribute with medicines in the tough battle against Covi -19.
