Formal work is very important for both employers and workers. With so few of the working population in Peru employed by a formal job, many Peruvians lack good working conditions, benefits and pay. At Ocho Sur, 100% of our workers have formal employment contracts and are provided with three free meals a day, medical services, free housing, and paid vacations.
With approximately 2,000 workers, Ocho Sur is one of the leading employers in the region, accounting for more than 43% of formal agricultural employment in Ucayali.
