Ocho Sur, a company dedicated to the sustainable production of palm products and derivatives based in Ucayali, reported that it has managed to get 96.2% of its total workers vaccinated against Covid-19 in their first dose and that 62.3% I already have the second dose.
Considered the main employer in the region, with more than 1,800 jobs, the palm oil company thus joins the objective of contributing to the fight against the pandemic and, in turn, helping to reactivate Peru’s economy.
“We are very proud that our collaborators are aware of the importance of vaccination against Covid-19,” said Michael Spoor, general manager of Ocho Sur.
He added that “We as a company, from day one, have carried out communication actions, providing information to our workers supported by specialized health institutions and we are sure that, in the coming days, we will reach 100% vaccinated with their two doses.” ”, he highlighted.
He indicated that immunization is achieved thanks to the strategic alliance established with the Regional Health Directorate (Diresa) of Ucayali, with whom it carries out not only vaccination campaigns for our workers but also for the communities neighboring the company, providing logistical support to the vaccinators to be able to serve the most remote and inaccessible communities.
“We are aware that due to the distance and geography it is difficult for our workers and neighbors to travel to a vaccination point, that is why, from the first day, we have coordinated with the Diresa to join the campaign and that our collaborators and residents of neighboring communities can receive their respective doses,” Spoor said.
Finally, the general manager of the company highlighted the great work that the Peruvian health authorities have been doing and was pleased that in Ocho Sur they are achieving vaccination rates that are not seen in many countries in the world.
