Within the framework of its social responsibility policy, Ocho Sur, a business group dedicated to the sustainable production of products and derivatives of oil palm in Ucayali, delivered the premises of a modern Health Post to the native community Santa Clara de Uchunya, located in the district of Nueva Requena.
The donation of the aforementioned medical establishment, which will benefit its hundreds of residents, is located in the same community and has been built with noble materials on an area of land of 200 square meters, according to the demand levels dictated by the Ministry of Health.
This was announced by the general manager of Ocho Sur, Michael Spoor, when officially handing over the work to the elected head of Santa Clara de Uchunya, Wilson Barbarán Soria, during an assembly that was attended by its authorities and community members, who They showed their joy at seeing their own Health Post become a reality.
“This is another of the commitments with which our company fulfills with Santa Clara de Uchunya not only as neighbors, but as brothers, friends and partners, to improve the well-being of its residents in this region. This medical center will also support their children, grandchildren and the generations that will come later,” he remarked.
He added that, since the beginning of its operations in 2016, Ocho Sur has been working hard to contribute to improving the standard of living of the population of its 23 neighboring communities, promoting health, education, infrastructure, and basic services. “This Health Post is one of them,” remarked Michael Spoor.
For his part, the elected head of Santa Clara de Uchunya expressed his joy at having his own modern health facility in his community, since for a long time it was just a dream. “We knocked on doors for years to the authorities and the only one that responded to our request was Ocho Sur,” emphasized Barbarán Soria.
The ceremony was also attended by the regional director of Health of Ucayali, Benjamín Paredes, who highlighted the contribution of Ocho Sur by making an investment in the service of the community, with adequate first-class infrastructure; later delivering a resolution that formalizes the creation of the Santa Clara de Uchunya Health Post.
Likewise, the mayor of Nueva Requena, Humberto Banda, was present at the event, who highlighted the important work delivered by the palm oil company to the native population of his district, specifying that the Municipality will also join this effort to meet its goals and expectations.
The brand new Santa Clara de Uchunya Health Post has large spaces to care for patients, such as: consultation rooms, triage, first aid, childbirth care, hygienic services, electricity and water; as well as an environment that has been renovated for the rest of doctors and nurses.
