After nearly three months of exciting and passionate soccer matches among 15 men’s teams from rural communities in the districts of Nueva Requena and Curimaná, eight teams have advanced to the Quarterfinals Stage of the Intercommunity Soccer Championship – IV Ocho Sur Cup 2025.
The qualified teams that will compete in this thrilling round represent the following rural communities:
GROUP A
Unión Progreso (14 points)
San Pablo de Juantía (13 points)
Naranjal (12 points)
Esperanza (8 points)
GROUP B
Tres Islas (19 points)
Roca Fuerte (15 points)
Nuevo Edén (13 points)
San Juan de Tahuapoa (11 points)
These eight teams will face off this Sunday, August 24, from 8:00 a.m., at the Nueva Requena Stadium. Admission is free, and everyone is invited to enjoy a day filled with passion, teamwork, and community spirit.
MATCH SCHEDULE – AUGUST 24
8:00 a.m. – San Pablo de Juantía vs. Nuevo Edén
9:45 a.m. – Tres Islas vs. Esperanza
11:20 a.m. – Unión Progreso vs. San Juan de Tahuapoa
1:30 p.m. – Roca Fuerte vs. Naranjal
The four winning teams will advance to the Semifinals, which will be played on Sunday, September 7, at the same stadium in Nueva Requena.
WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP – IV OCHO SUR CUP 2025
In the women’s category of this vibrant intercommunity tournament, four teams have already qualified for the Semifinals, which will also take place on Sunday, September 7, at the Nueva Requena Stadium.
Qualified Women’s Teams:
Group A: Naranjal (12 points) and Santa Clara de Uchunya (7 points)
Group B: San Juan de Tahuapoa (18 points) and Bajo Rayal (13 points)
The two winning teams will advance to the Grand Final, where the 2025 Women’s Champion will be crowned.
