JUANTIA, TRES ISLAS, NARANJAL, AND TAHUAPOA LEAD THE STANDINGS IN THE IV OCHO SUR CUP 2025

The excitement of the IV Ocho Sur Cup 2025, the most anticipated Intercommunity Men’s and Women’s Soccer Championship in Ucayali, continues every weekend with thrilling matches featuring players from native communities, rural settlements, and villages in the districts of Nueva Requena and Curimaná.

Organized annually by the Ocho Sur Group, a leading Peruvian agribusiness dedicated to the sustainable production of palm oil and its derivatives in Ucayali, this championship forms part of the company’s commitment to social responsibility, community relations, and the promotion of sports and healthy lifestyles in the Amazon region.

With 27 teams (15 men’s and 12 women’s) representing 16 Amazonian communities, the tournament has become a regional celebration of friendship, teamwork, and unity. For this reason, the IV Ocho Sur Cup 2025 is fondly known as “The Cup that Unites Communities.”

After five matchdays, the following teams lead their respective groups:

  • MEN’S GROUP A: San Pablo de Juantía – 13 points (4 wins, 1 draw)

  • MEN’S GROUP B: Tres Islas – 13 points (4 wins, 1 draw)

  • WOMEN’S GROUP A: Naranjal – 12 points (4 wins)

  • WOMEN’S GROUP B: San Juan de Tahuapoa – 12 points (4 wins)

 

UPCOMING FIXTURES – AUGUST 9–10, 2025

Saturday, August 9 – Women’s Category (Group B)
Matches will take place at the Roca Fuerte Stadium:

  • 9:00 a.m. – San Juan de Tahuapoa vs. Tres Islas

  • 10:30 a.m. – Nuevo Edén vs. Bajo Rayal

  • 12:00 p.m. – Kokama vs. Bajo Rayal

Group A Women’s Teams: Naranjal and Santa Clara de Uchunya have already secured their spots in the Semifinals.

Sunday, August 10 – Men’s Category

Group A (Matches in Caribe and Roca Fuerte stadiums):

  • 8:30 a.m. – Caribe vs. Santa Clara de Uchunya (Caribe Stadium)

  • 10:20 a.m. – Amakella vs. Esperanza (Roca Fuerte Stadium)

  • 12:00 p.m. – San Pablo de Juantía vs. Unión Progreso (Caribe Stadium)

Group B (Roca Fuerte Stadium):

  • 9:00 a.m. – Roca Fuerte vs. Kokama

  • 1:00 p.m. – Nuevo Edén vs. Tres Islas

  • 3:00 p.m. – La Perla de Sanja Seca vs. San Juan de Tahuapoa
