The fight against climate change and the protection of the environment must be carried out by governments and businesses alike. Since the beginning of our operations in 2016, we’ve made the corporate decision to safeguard and reforest more than 690 hectares of secondary forests and purmas in our permanent protection areas.

In addition, between 2023 and 2024, we have signed two conservation agreements with the native communities of Shambo Porvenir and Santa Clara de Uchunya for more than 2,100 hectares of forests that will be protected for the next 25 years.

In total, Ocho Sur protects more than 2,795 hectares of forest inside and outside its boundaries as a permanent commitment to the conservation of standing forests and the use of degraded lands.
