OCHO SUR WAS DISTINGUISHED BY THE SHAMBO PORVENIR NATIVE COMMUNITY

The Ocho Sur Business Group, dedicated to the sustainable production of palm products and derivatives in Ucayali, was distinguished by the Shambo Porvenir native community, for its constant contribution to the development of its Shipibo Konibo population, located in the district of Nueva Requena.

The event took place within the framework of the celebration of the 52nd anniversary of its creation, which was attended by religious and sports delegations from 14 communities surrounding this happy and colorful town.

As part of the celebration of this new anniversary, the head of the Shambo Porvenir community, Bruno Tangoa Inocente, expressed, on behalf of his people and community members, his gratitude to the palm oil company Ocho Sur for always being present in the needs required by the population.

“In this Covid-19 pandemic, Ocho Sur came to us with doctors from the Regional Health Directorate, who treated the population and delivered medicines to our families; Likewise, he has collaborated with the construction of our temple, he is improving our communication routes and he is always present with us,” said the head of the community.

After expressing his gratitude, on behalf of the native community and the church, Tangoa Inocente awarded the company a diploma of recognition “for his constant contribution to the development of Shambo Porvenir and its residents.”

For his part, the general manager of Ocho Sur, Michael Spoor, thanked the population for the distinction, stating that it was a great pleasure to now be in such a united community, with so much desire to work, and also indicated that, as good neighbors, The company will always support them as much as possible, “working hand in hand for the development of Shambo Porvenir.”

Then, the senior official stated that, “since the beginning of our operations in 2016, the company is committed to contributing to improving the standard of living of its 23 surrounding communities, promoting health, education, infrastructure, and basic services works”.

Finally, Michael Spoor reiterated that Ocho Sur will continue working for the inclusive development of all families in the neighboring communities and the Ucayali region. “That is our commitment,” he stressed.
