Fulfilling its commitment to respect and contribute to the inclusive development of its neighboring communities, Grupo Ocho Sur, dedicated to the sustainable production of palm products and derivatives in Ucayali, reestablished the electrical connection of the Unión Progreso Poblado Center, which had been interrupted for two years. , thus improving the supply of electricity for the benefit of the population.
At the request of the residents, the palm oil company, within the framework of its social responsibility policy, decided to install new poles and reestablished the connection of this town center to the medium voltage transmission line of the 29.9 KV motor, which is located in the neighboring Esperanza Town Center.
During the ceremony to turn on the electricity, Elfer Vargas, municipal agent of Unión Progreso, thanked Ocho Sur for reestablishing the electrification network and for being a good neighbor who serves his community in times of need.
For his part, Juan Amasifuén, leader of CP Esperanza and member of the Electrification Committee, stated that for two years they knocked on many doors without finding a response. “The only one that was opened to us was Ocho Sur, which immediately hired a specialized firm to carry out this work of great importance for the population,” he stressed.
The ceremony for the start-up of the electrification network was presided over by Alfonso Morante, executive of Ocho Sur, who expressed the greetings and satisfaction of officials and workers of the company, for having been able to meet the desire of the population of Unión Progreso.
