DIRESA RESTARTED COMPREHENSIVE MEDICAL EVALUATION IN COMMUNITIES OF NEW REQUENA

The Regional Government of Ucayali, through its Regional Health Directorate (Diresa), restarts this Saturday, March 13, its comprehensive medical evaluation program for the Nueva Requena Communities, to monitor the health status of its residents, including Covid -19.

On this occasion, the intervention will take place at the Nueva Esperanza Population Center and the Unión Progreso Community, with the presence of doctors, nurses and the free delivery of medicines and masks donated by Grupo Ocho Sur, a company dedicated to the sustainable production of oil palm in our region.

In this regard, Dr. Juan Carlos Salas, director of Diresa, pointed out that with the important collaboration of the aforementioned company, the campaign of Saturday medical checks is restarted in the communities of the Nueva Requena district, which will have an approximate scope of care. to more than 10 thousand people.

“This program started a few weeks ago in the Shambo Porvenir Native Community and had to be suspended due to inclement weather,” he explained.

SOCIAL WORK OF OCHO SUR

On the other hand, fulfilling its social work, a few days ago Grupo Ocho Sur donated more than a ton of food to the residents of the Communities of Santa Clara de Uchunya and Shambo Porvenir, whose homes were affected due to flooding due to the intense rains.

After the delivery of the donations, a representative of Santa Clara de Uchunya, and Franck Noriega, head of Shambo Porvenir, expressed their gratitude to the oil palm company for coming to their immediate aid to ease the difficult times they were going through. .

“We are being hit hard by the floods, so we turned to Ocho Sur because we knew they were not going to deny us their support,” said the representative of Santa Clara de Uchunya.

“For this reason, we will always welcome you with open arms,” added the leader of the Shambo Porvenir Community.

In this regard, the general manager of Ocho Sur, Michael Spoor, stated: “We regret the flooding and damage caused in communities neighboring our operations. “We are always ready to support our neighbors in these emergency situations.”
