Grupo Ocho Sur has achieved, in its two farms of Tibecocha and Zanja Seca, the highest and most efficient production levels in the region.

Thus, while the average palm oil extraction per ton in the region does not reach 22%, thanks to the technology implemented in Grupo Ocho Sur, our oil extraction rate per ton reaches a considerable 26%, placing our founded as one of the most productive in the Amazon region.

How has this been achieved?
The great differential is the so-called Oil Palm Management Program (OMP), a program that centralizes all the information related to the needs of the farms in matters of fertilization, irrigation and harvest.

The fertilization process responds to a series of soil analyzes that are entered into the OMP and that provide precise reports on the amount of different fertilizers that must be applied per hectare to sustain the production and quality of the fruit.

Furthermore, since Grupo Ocho Sur’s crops do not use water from lakes, streams or rivers for the irrigation process, if the rains are not favorable, this software indicates the exact amount of treated water from the extraction plant that must be applied. to conserve humidity and the crop’s own requirements.

Alexander Espíritu, head of the Ocho Sur P farm, points out: “The OMP allows us to automate the monitoring actions of the farms, it is very useful to understand and meet the requirements of the palm. That attention we give is reflected in our high productivity and rate of oil per ton.”
