This was announced by its general manager Michael Spoor, who pointed out that the extraction plant is equipped with state-of-the-art technology that manages to process the fruit of the oil palm with an average of 55 tons per hour and has an Environmental Impact Study ( EIA) and all its approved legal permits.

“The plant currently develops its process almost completely automated, and was put into operation a year ago with a contribution of 20 million dollars,” said the Ocho Sur authority in a teleconference from the United States.

Likewise, he highlighted that the business group has the contribution of North American investors and aims to soon become a leader in terms of productivity, social responsibility, environmental sustainability and profitability, in order to provide important long-term benefits for the Ucayali region and its communities.

At another time, the general manager made it clear that the properties currently occupied by Ocho Sur were acquired at a public auction in 2016 from a trust banking entity, which took control of its shares and assets after having been declared bankrupt. by its previous owners.

On the other hand, Serge Verhaert, Operations Manager of the business group, indicated that his representative has made very important investments in these four years in the Tibecocha and Zanja Seca farms, which exceed 140 million dollars.

He added that his plantations produce more than twice as much fruit per hectare than other regional farmers and that his Extractor Plant manages to obtain 15% more palm oil than other similar ones in the country.

He also mentioned that Ocho Sur has become the largest employer in Ucayali, offering formal and quality work to more than 1,700 people; and it is also one of the main buyers in the region, prioritizing local suppliers with more than 10 million dollars a year, favoring more than 650 merchants and benefiting more than 2,700 people indirectly.

Finally, he revealed the company’s initiative to expand its Strategic Alliance and Production Program (PAPE), to support the planting, maintenance and marketing of oil palm in more than 170 small farmers in the Kokama Native Community and the Shipibos of the Valley. of the Aguaytía River.
